About the Department
The Samhita-Siddhanta department is a key part of Ayurveda education, focusing on the foundational principles outlined in classical Ayurvedic texts (Samhitas), which are in Sanskrit. To aid understanding, Sanskrit is also taught. The department covers research methodology and connects to all four main examinations in the B.A.M.S. course through subjects like Sanskrit, Padartha Vijnana & Ayurveda Itihas, Maulik Siddhanta evam Ashtanga Hridaya, Charak Samhita (Purvardha & Uttarardha) and research methodology. It forms the core knowledge base of Ayurveda.

- Sanskrit workshops- Training in Sanskrit enhances the understanding of the language used in Samhitas.
- Shloka recitation- Daily Shloka recitation can Aid in memorization and understanding of key verses.
- Discussions and debates- Engaging in discussion and debates related to Samhita concepts can foster critical thinking and knowledge retention.
- Class activities, Case based activities, field activities and activity based learning for the students to enhance the knowledge.
- Brainstorming Activities to encourage creative thinking and problem solving related to ayurvedic concepts like Pramanas, Tantrayuktis, Anubandha chatushtya, Ashtaprashna.
